Preston Watts, owner of A Cut Above Cylinderheads, brings 19 years of automotive machining experience in domestic, exotics, light/heavy industrial, hi-performance and racing to your cylinder head needs.

With extensive experience in overhead cam engines, exotics and IRL (Indy Racing League) engines, Preston has built engines for 7 years for the several IRL teams. His meticulous attention to detail have produced a best qualifying position of 13th and a best race finish of 8th on the grandest stage of all, the Indianapolis 500. It should also be noted that every IRL engine he has built has qualified for this prestigious event.

Preston's race engine experience is not limited to the IRL. He has literally built hundreds of sprint car and stock car engines that have competed at all levels of racing from the local racer to the World of Outlaws, NHRA, HavaTampa, Hooters Series and many more.

His expertise is not limited to cylinder heads, machining and assembly. He also has extensive knowledge with mechanical fuel injection (Engler, Hilborn, Kinsler) with very high compression ratios and dyno tuning.
